Here Powers of Ved mantras is explained. Here Ved mantras themselves are instructing the Deities to listen to the prayers of Yajmans and benefit them. Here the mantra is supposed to be Akshar(indestructible).The word Om(ॐ) is the supreme one in our evolution and through which all other things were born (including the other words such as Akaar, Makaar etc). The powerful mantras of the Priests are evoking the Deities to listen to the prayers of Yajmans @ Rig Ved 1.26.5
पूर्व्य॑ होतर॒स्य नो॒ मंद॑स्व स॒ख्यस्य॑ च ।
इ॒मा उ॒ षु श्रु॑धी॒ गिरः॑ ॥
Translation:-
पूर्व्य॑ - Has been there before itself.
होतः - The performer of Yagya.
अस्य - This.
नः - Ours.
मंद॑स्व - To be happy.
स॒ख्यस्य॑ - In friendly manner.
च - And.
इ॒माः - That.
श्रु॑धी॒ - To listen.
गिरः॑ उ षु - Saying in hymn form.
Explanation:-This mantra is addressed to Agnidev where he is said to be the performer of Sanatan Yagya. He is requested to treat the welcoming from Yajmans in a friendly and happy way and listen to their request carefully.

पूर्व्य॑ होतर॒स्य नो॒ मंद॑स्व स॒ख्यस्य॑ च ।
इ॒मा उ॒ षु श्रु॑धी॒ गिरः॑ ॥
भाषांतर :-
पूर्व्य॑ - पूर्वी उत्पन्न.
होतः - हे! यज्ञकर्माचे कार्यकारी.
अस्य - ह्या.
नः - आमचे.
मंद॑स्व - प्रसन्न होणे.
स॒ख्यस्य॑ - मित्र भावाने.
च - आणि.
इ॒मा -त्या.
श्रु॑धी॒ - ऐकणें.
गिरः॑उ षु - स्तुती रूपात वाणीचा.
भावार्थ :- ह्या मंत्रात अग्निदेवांना संबोधून म्हटले आहे की ते सनातन यज्ञकर्माचे कार्यकारी आहेत.म्हणून त्याने मित्र भावाने यजमानांनी केलेल्या आदर सन्मानांना प्रसन्नतेने स्वीकारून त्यांची प्रार्थना ध्यानपूर्वक ऐकावी.
गूढार्थ :इथे मंत्राची शक्तीचे वर्णन आहे.वेद स्वतः देवतांना निर्देश देत आहेत की त्यानी यजमानांचे हिताची प्रार्थना ऐकावी.मंत्र हे अक्षर(अविनाशी) आहेत.ॐ अक्षरातूनच सगळे अकार,मकार निघालेले आहेत.ऋत्विकांचे मंत्रात जे अपार शक्ति आहे तीच देवतांना उदधृत होउन निर्देशित करत आहे.

पूर्व्य॑ - पूर्व में उत्पन्न।
होतः - हे यज्ञ निष्पादक।
अस्य - इस।
नः - हमारे।
मंद॑स्व - प्रसन्न होना।
स॒ख्यस्य॑ - मित्र भाव से।
च - और
इ॒माः - उन।
श्रु॑धी॒ - सुनना।
गिरः॑उ षु - स्तुति रूप वाणी को भी।
भावार्थ :-इस मंत्र में अग्निदेव को संबोधित करते हुए कहा गया है कि वह सनातन यज्ञ कर्म के निष्पादक हैं। अतः मित्र भाव से यजमान के द्वारा किये जा रहे आदर सत्कार से प्रसन्न होकर उसकी प्रार्थना को ध्यान से सुनें।
गूढार्थ:यहाँ मंत्र की शक्ति का वर्णन है।वेद स्वयं ही देवताओं को निर्देश दे रहें हैं कि वे यजमानो के हित के लिए उनकी प्रार्थना को सुनें।वास्तव में मंत्र ही अक्षर(अविनाशी) हैं।ॐ में ही संपूर्ण शक्ति है। उसी में से अकार,उकार, मकार आदि निकले हैं। ऋत्विजों के मंत्र में ही इतनी शक्ति है कि वेद मंत्र से ही उसे उद्धृत किया जा रहा है।
