Here it means that the enemy in the form of Maya is spread widely over this Prithvi. Her mighty empire is spread in all directions. She seems to have become the Swamini of this World. It is difficult to get victory over her. Only seekers of knowledge can defeat her. Maya is Avyakt( not manifested in three guun of rajas, Tamas and Satva or Triguunatmika), Avidya(Ignorance of one's true identity) and Anaadi (Eternal) Para shakti of Parmeshwar, we call this Maya. The Cover of Maya has engulfed us, so that we are unable to recognise the Brahm in us. To defeat the power of Maya we have to imbibe Satoguun (Happiness, Satisfaction, Compassion, Pardon, Self realisation etc). This will enable the Mumukshu(The seeker of Moksha) to attain eternal happiness.

Translation :
चक्राणासः - To complete.
परिणहम् - Spread wide.
पृथिव्याः - On surface.
हिरेण्येण - Of Gold.
मणिना - Pearl.
शुंभमानाः - Decorative.
न - No.
हिन्वानसः - To increase.
तितिरूः - To win.
ते - They.
इंद्रम् - For Indra.
स्पशः - Obstruction.
परि अदधात् - Concealed.
सूर्येण - With the help of Sun.
Explanation: This mantra says that the enemies had spread their empire in the entire Prithvi. They had become the owners of all the wealth comprising of all valuable things. But Indradev defeated them and ended their regime. They could not stand before the might of Indradev.

भाषांतर :
चक्राणासः - होउन जाणे.
परिणहम् - व्याप्त.
पृथिव्याः - भूमि ला.
हिरेण्येण - स्वर्ण युक्त.
मणिना - मणि.
शुंभमानाः - शोभित.
न - नाही.
हिन्वानसः - वृद्धि होणे.
तितिरूः - जिंकणे.
ते - त्या.
इंद्रम् - इन्द्राला.
स्पशः - बाधक.
परि अदधात् - तिरोहित करणे.
सूर्येण - सूर्याचे सहाय्य ने.
भावार्थ: ह्या मंत्रात म्हटले आहे की शत्रुंनी आपले साम्राज्य समस्त पृथ्वीवर पसरवून ठेवले होते.ते सर्व धन आणि रत्न इत्यादीचे स्वामी बनून बसले होते.परंतू इंद्रदेवांनी त्यांना पराजित करून त्यांचे आधिपत्य समाप्त करून टाकले. ते इंद्रदेवासमोर टिकून राहिले नाही.
गूढार्थ: इथे सांगितलेले आहे की मायारूपी शत्रू पृथ्वी वर सर्वत्र व्याप्त आहे. तिचे साम्राज्य सर्वत्र पसरलेले आहे आणि ती पृथ्वीची स्वामिनी बनून बसली आहे. तिला जिंकणे असंभव आहे. फक्त योगी हेच तिला जिंकू शकतात. जी अव्यक्त नावाची त्रिगुणात्मिका अनादि अविद्या परमेश्वराची परा शक्ति आहे तिलाच माया म्हणत असतो. मायारूपी आवरणने आमचे ज्ञान चक्षुंना झाकलेले आहे. ह्या कारणाने आम्हीआपल्या मधे व्याप्त ब्रह्म ओळखू शकत नाही. मायाचा क्षय करण्यासाठी आम्हाला आपले सात्विक गुण ( प्रसन्नता, तृप्ति, दया, क्षमा, आत्मानुभव इत्यादि) प्रबळ केले पाहिजे. सतोगुणची प्रबळतेतून मुमुक्षु नित्यानंद स्वरूपास प्राप्त होइल.

भावार्थ:इस मंत्र में कहा गया है कि शत्रुओं ने अपना साम्राज्य समस्त पृथ्वी पर फैला रखा था। वे समस्त धन और रत्नादि के स्वामी बन गये। परंतु इंद्रदेव ने उनको पराजित कर उनका आधिपत्य समाप्त कर दिया। वे इंद्रदेव के आगे टिक न सके।
गूढार्थ: यहां बताया गया है कि मायारूपी शत्रु पूरी पृथ्वी पर व्याप्त है। उसने अपना प्रबल साम्राज्य सब और फैला दिया है और यहां की स्वामिनी बनी हुई है। उसको जीतना असंभव है। केवल योगीजन ही उसको जीत पायें हैं। जो अव्यक्त नामवाली त्रिगुणात्मिका अनादि अविद्या परमेश्वर की परा शक्ति है उसे ही हम माया कहते हैं। मायारूपी आवरण ने हमारे ज्ञान चक्षुओं को ढँक रखा है इसीलिए हम अपने भीतर व्याप्त ब्रह्म को नहीं देख पाते।माया का क्षय करने के लिए हमें अपना सात्विक गुण( प्रसन्नता, तृप्ति, दया, क्षमा, अात्मानुभव आदि) प्रबल करना होगा। सतोगुण की प्रबलता से मुमुक्षु नित्यानन्द स्वरूप को प्राप्त करता है।
