Here to suppress means that if for some reason our vices are not destroyed then Parmatma is requested to suppress them so that there is no stoppage on the road towards Parmatma and all the difficulties are stopped. If not stopped these will create difficulties for our mind that is ready to receive the radiance of knowledge. These may create darkness in our Chitta(चित्त) which is ready to receive the ultimate bhaav(भाव). Parmatma is requested to pave for us that path which will grant us purity and clarity.
त्वं तस्य॑ द्वया॒विनो॒ऽघशं॑सस्य॒ कस्य॑ चित् ।
प॒दाभि ति॑ष्ठ॒ तपु॑षिं ॥
Translation:
त्वम् - Yours.
कस्य चित्त - Anyone.
द्वयाविनः - One who steals and takes away.
अधशंसस्य - One who thinks ill of others.
तस्य - Them.
तपुषिम् - One who inflicts pain.
पदा - On your legs.
अभि तिष्ठ - To suppress.
Explanation::Pushadev is requested to suppress and stand on those wicked Violent people in such a way that they do not come forward.

भाषान्तर:
त्वम् - आपण.
कस्य चित्त - कोणीही.
द्वयाविनः - हरण करणारे.
अधशंसस्य - अनिष्ट साधक.
तस्य - त्याचे.
तपुषिम् - दुस-याना पीडा देणारे.
पदा - आपल्या पायावर.
अभि तिष्ठ - दाबून देणे.
भावार्थ: पूषा देवांना विनंती आहे की त्यांनी त्या प्रत्येक हिंसकाला आपल्या पायांनी दाबून ठेवावे की तो पुन्हा उठू शकणार नाही.
गूढार्थ:इथे दाबून ठेवणे म्हणजे जर काही कारणाने आमचे विकार नष्ट होत नाही तर त्यांना थांबवावे लागेल कारण ते मार्गात अडथळे उत्पन्न करतील . ते अडथळे आमच्या बुद्धीला सन्मार्गावर जाण्यासाठी बाधित करतील आणि आमच्या चित्ताचे भाव ह्यांना प्रकाशित होउ देणार नाहीत शेवटी ते अंधारातच राहणार. आमची बुद्धी प्रकाशित होणार नाही. आमच्या साठी असा मार्ग प्रशस्त करा की आमच्या मनाची शुद्धता आणि निर्मलता अबाधित राहिल.

त्वम् - आप।
कस्य चित्त - कोई भी।
द्वयाविनः - हरण करना।
अधशंसस्य - बुरा सोचने वाले।
तस्य - उसके।
तपुषिम् - दूसरे को पीडा देने वाले।
पदा - अपने पैरों पर।
अभि तिष्ठ - दबा देना।
भावार्थ: पूषा देव से निवेदन है कि वे हर उस हिंसक व्यक्ति की दोहरी कुटिल चाल को अपने पैरों से कुचल कर रखें अर्थात उन्हें ऐसे दबाकर रखें कि वह उठने न पाएं।
गूढ़ार्थ :यहाँ दबाकर रखें इसका तात्पर्य यह है कि अगर किसी कारण से हमारे विकार नष्ट नहीं हो रहें हो तो उसे रोकने के लिए कहा जा रहा है ताकि सन्मार्ग में आने वाली बाधाओं को रोका जा सके ताकि वे कोई अवरोध पैदा न कर सकें ।हमारी बुद्धि जो प्रकाशित होने वाली है वह बाधित न हो। हमारे चित्त के जो भाव हैं उनमें अंधकार न आने पाए।हमारी बुद्धि को प्रकाशित होने से रोका न जा सके।हमारे मन की निर्मलता बाधित न हो यह प्रार्थना की गई है।
