If our food is impure then our behaviour too is not pure or proper. Improper behaviour makes your mind impure. If mind is impure we are confused and unsatisfied. Therefore it is requested over here that Water is actually our Pran, should always remain pure eternally because then only our Pran will remain pure so also our behaviour. If food is pure our body will remain healthy. Our DAIHIK, DAIVIK and BHAUTIK tapas will go away and spiritually we will follow the right path.
गा॒थप॑तिं मे॒धप॑तिं रु॒द्रं जला॑षभेषजं ।
तच्छं॒योः सु॒म्नमी॑महे ॥
Translation:
गाथपतिम् - One who looks after Yagya.
मेघपतिम् - One who looks after stuti.
जलाषभेषजम् - With medicines.
रूद्रम् - With Rudra.
शंयो: - Related to Shanyu.
तत् - Those.
सुम्नम् - Of happiness.
ईमहे - Plead.
Explanation: We, with this pleasing water mixed with medicines, wish for happiness and health towards Rudra , who is the Swami of Stutis and Yagya.

भाषांतर:
गाथपतिम् - स्तुती पालक.
मेघपतिम् - यज्ञ पालक.
जलाषभेषजम् - औषधी युक्त.
रूद्रम् - रूद्र जवळ.
शंयो: - शंयुशी संबंधित.
तत् - त्या.
सुम्नम् - सुखाने.
ईमहे - याचक।
भावार्थ:
ह्या औषधमिश्रित पाण्याद्वारे आम्ही रूद्राकडे सुखसौख्य व आरोग्य देण्याची इच्छा व्यक्त करतो जो स्तुती आणि यज्ञाचा स्वामी आहे .
गूढार्थ: आहार अशुद्ध असला तर व्यवहार पण अशुद्ध होतो. व्यवहार अशुद्ध होतो तर मन अशुद्ध होते. मन अशुद्ध झाल्यास भ्रांती अनुभव होते व असंतुष्ट राहतो. म्हणून इथे प्रार्थना केलेली आहे की हा शुद्ध औषधी युक्त जल असेच राहावे कारण जल आमचा प्राण आहे. प्राण शुद्ध राहणार तर व्यवहार आणि आचरण पण शुद्ध असणार. जर आहार शुद्ध राहिल तरच शरीर स्वस्थ राहिल.दैहिक, दैविक आणि भौतिक ताप राहणार नाही तरी आम्ही आध्यात्मिक रीतीने सदाचारी बनू.

अनुवाद:
गाथपतिम् - स्तुति के पालक।
मेघपतिम् - यज्ञ के पालक।
जलाषभेषजम् - औषधि से युक्त।
रूद्रम् - रूद्र के पास।
शंयो: - शंयु से संबंधित।
तत् - उस।
सुम्नम् - सुख की।
ईमहे - याचक।
भावार्थ: इस सुखद जल तथा औषधियों के साथ की जा रही स्तुतियों के साथ, स्तुतियों के और यज्ञ के स्वामी रूद्र के स्वास्थ्य और सुख की कामना करते हैं।
गूढार्थ:आहार अशुद्ध हो जाने से व्यवहार भी अशुद्ध हो जाता है। व्यवहार अशुद्ध हो जाने से मन अशुद्ध हो जाता है. मन अशुद्ध होने से भ्रांति घेर लेती है, असंतोष घेर लेता है। तो इसलिए यहाँ प्रार्थना की जा रही है कि शुद्ध औषधि युक्त जल जो कि हमारा प्राण है, वह ऐसा ही रहे क्योंकि प्राण शुद्ध रहेगा तो व्यवहार और आचरण भी शुद्ध होगा।आहार शुद्ध रहेगा तो शरीर स्वस्थ रहेगा। दैहिक, दैविक और भौतिक ताप नहीं होगा तो आध्यात्मिक दृष्टि से हम सदाचारी बनेंगे।
