Here Hota means the one who accepts everything that is offered to him. Here the hota(Agnidev) is so divine that he does not keep anything with him but distributes it to other devta's. It is just like our own mouth acts as the chief when whatever is put inside he transfers it to the stomach which then creates energy and distributes it to the other body parts. But when our body has any abnormalities, the whole food becomes garbage. Similarly when our body has vices and negativities, then we can never become sorrowless, thus we remain impure. To experience the Atmik Anand(Inner happiness) and achieve fulfillment our mind and body should be pure.
होता॑रं वि॒श्ववे॑दसं॒ सं हि त्वा॒ विश॑ इं॒धते॑ ।
स आ व॑ह पुरुहूत॒ प्रचे॑त॒सोऽग्ने॑ दे॒वाँ इ॒ह द्र॒वत् ॥
Translation;
होतारम् - One who conducts Yagya.
विश्ववेदसम् - One who knows everything.
त्वा - You.
विशः - Subjects.
हि - Sure.
सम् इन्धते - To light.
पुरुहुत - Offerings by many.
अग्ने - Agnidev!
सः - That.
प्रचेतसः - Intelligent.
देवान् - For devtas.
इह - Here.
द्रवत् - Fast.
आ वह - To bring.
Explanation:. Agnidev, the all knowing conductor of Yagya! All the people fully ignite or illuminate you. We request you to bring all these intelligent devtas for this yagya speedily.

भाषांतर;
होतारम् - होम निष्पादक.
विश्ववेदसम् - सर्वज्ञ.
त्वा - आपण.
विशः - प्रजा.
हि - निश्चित.
सम् इन्धते - प्रज्वलित करणे.
पुरुहुत - अनेकां द्वारे आहूत.
अग्ने - अग्निदेव!
सः - तो.
प्रचेतसः - ज्ञान संपन्न.
देवान् - देवांचे.
इह - इथे.
द्रवत् - लौकर.
आ वह - घेऊन येणे.
भावार्थ
हे सर्वभूतांचे ज्ञानी अशा अग्निदेवा! आपण यज्ञाचे मार्गदर्शक ( संयोजक)
आहात .सर्व मनुष्यगण आपणास प्रज्वलित करतात .ज्ञानसंपन्न देवतांना आपण लवकरात लवकर यज्ञात आणावे , अशी विनंती करीत आहोत .
गूढ़ार्थ; इथे होता अर्थ आहे ग्रहण करणारा. आपण अर्पित केलेले तो स्वीकारतो पण आपल्याजवळील सर्व तो इतर देवतांना वाटून देतो, जसे आमचे मुख मुखिया सारखा असतो. तो जेवण उदराकडे पाठवतो, नंतर उदर त्याची ऊर्जा बनवून अन्य भागात पोचवतो म्हणून शरीर उत्तम गति ने संचालित होतो. परंतु तो तेव्हा गाणं होते जेव्हा शरीरात विषय आणि विकार असतात. म्हणून अगोदर शरीराला निर्विकार बनवू नंतरच तो निरदुःख होणार कारण जेव्हा पर्यंत विकार आणि विषय जात नही तो पर्यन्त तो शुद्ध होणार नही आणि आम्ही आत्मिक आनंद अनुभव करणार नही. विकार रहित झाल्यावर आम्ही शरीरा ची उपलब्धि करू तेव्हा मन आणि बुद्धि प्रखर होईल.

भावार्थःहे उत्कृष्ट होता और सर्वज्ञ अग्निदेव!आपको सभी मानव पूर्ण रूप से प्रज्वलित करते हैं।बहुत लोगों द्वारा आहूत अग्निदेव! सभी ज्ञान से परिपूर्ण देवताओं को यज्ञ में लाइए।
गूढ़ार्थ;यहां होता का मतलब है ग्रहण करने वाला।यहां यह इतना दिव्य है कि वह कुछ भी अपने पास नहीं रखता बल्कि दूसरों तक पहुंचा देता है। जैसे हमारा मुख, मुखिया की तरह अन्न उदर में पहुंचा देता है, उदर उसको ऊर्जा बनाकर अन्य भागो में भेजता है तो वह ऊर्जा शरीर में अपना काम करने लगती है। पर ऊर्जा न बनकर वह कूड़ा बनता है जब अर्थात जब शरीर में विकृति रहती है।प्रज्वालित अग्नि का अर्थ है विकार और विषय से रहित होना। जब तक शरीर में विकार रहेंगे तब तक वह हवि कूड़ा बनी रहेगी।इसलिए पहले शरीर को निर्विकार करना होगा तभी हम निर्दुख हो सकते हैं क्योंकि जब तक अंदर शुद्धता नही होगी तब तक हम आत्मिक आनंद का अनुभव नही कर सकते। तब जाकर हम उपलब्धि को प्राप्त करते हैं जब बुद्धि शुद्ध और प्रखर होती है।
